Victoria Reynolds

Contemporary artist painting the land & sea
Obsidian Art

Victoria creates evocative landscape paintings capturing memorable and individual locations within the natural environment. She seeks to create works that resonate with the viewer and evoke a sense of place, which may be revisited both physically and metaphorically. These pieces are both colourful and tactile, emotional and symbolic. Her paintings evolve from direct observation, although often become more intuitive as they progress: the diversity of the elements, a shift in atmosphere and light. In the pieces she is showing at Obsidian Art she has layered acrylic on canvas to create space and tactility, echoing the physicality of the environment. Victoria was born and raised in Thame and studied at Oxford and Brighton, achieving BA and MA degrees in Fine Art and Illustration. She has taught in a variety of institutions, exhibits widely and has shown in several London galleries.
