Felted wool & embroidery art
Obsidian Art
Felted wool and rough hand stitching show the gnarly Low Scrub trees near Coombe Hill in the Chilterns. Folds in the dyed felted wool with thick yarn hand stitching suggest a carpet of bluebells on the sparse woodland floor. Wool lends itself to the magical atmosphere of this local hidden gem.

Marie Jones creates nature inspired felt art. The combination of wool and threads is a wonderful way to capture the beauty of our outdoor spaces. There are so many ways in which the wool fibres can be manipulated. Wet felting and needle felting layers of dyed wool form the basis of her art work. From there, incorporating textiles and other fibres provide a means of building textures to create a surface on which to add free motion embroidery and hand stitching. The possibilities are endless which makes the creative journey a challenge and a joy. It is a continuous learning process.
Both ready framed, or simply mounted work are available to purchase or commission.
