I am driven to re-invent what I do by creating new styles of picture making. I incorporate all the extraordinary experiments of modern art but apply the aesthetics of the Old Masters to my compositions; referencing art history, but presenting it in a new way. My work mirrors the complex world we inhabit by combining different types of imagery, both realistic and abstract, to create paintings for today. This can include landscapes, figures and all sorts of marks. There are hidden meanings to discover among the drips, textures and body prints. Currently I am working on paintings that contrast various mark making, such as water patterns and clouds, with segments from Old Master paintings to create compositions that reflect the absurdity of our modern world.
