I alternate between making paintings and ceramics, but enjoy experimenting with various media. Recently I have been looking at the tangled elements of landscape; I am drawn to the patterns and rhythms of branches or the confusion of seaweed in water. I make ceramics that are suitable for the garden such as toppers for fence posts or canes. Recently birds have been my subjects, but I am currently working on forms inspired by the shapes and textures of trees. I usually include an Installation at Sunneyhill Barn during Art Weeks. It is a truly inspirational space for this, offering nooks and crannies in gorgeous old sheds and shelters.
