Saggar-fired ceramics
Obsidian Art
Experimental in nature, Laura’s work combines the semi-industrial process of casting with the unpredictability of saggar firing. The bone china and porcelain pieces are cast and then saggar fired in the kiln with metals, oxides and other combustible materials to give varied colours and effects.
Laura will be at the gallery on Sunday 16th and Thursday 20th June from 2pm to 4pm demonstrating some of her techniques. Free to attend and no need to book, please just come along for a chance to meet Laura and learn more about her making process, her inspirations and the art of saggar firing.
