Painting with Fibre.
Twenty years ago Ros became fascinated by the versatility of felt making.
“It is a magical medium, and can achieve results that are very fine, delicate and transparent. If felted on to silk it becomes a very lightweight material, and can be fused with other fibres and materials to produce a dense textured effect, and molded into sculptures and vessels”.
Her work reflects her love of colour and texture and is inspired by the natural world.
"These works are derived solely from memories of my northern childhood, in which I try to capture the mood of that ever changing landscape, through the mists of time. And the vessels evolved from a series of hangings, inspired by a study of rock strata and weather worn surfaces"
