Gold leaf illuminations & ceramics
St Dunstan’s
I am an illuminator working in the tradition of Christian manuscript illumination, and my work is characterised by precision and fine detail. Illumination is the use of gold (or other metals) in leaf or powdered form. These are applied using traditional techniques that were used to embellish manuscripts to honour God. The addition of tiny jewels in my work contribute to a ‘medieval richness’.
I describe my works as “Illuminated Meditations’, because not only are they embellished with gold, but they also express the truths of my Christian faith, inviting contemplation.
Showing with a group of established artists and makers in beautiful, medieval St Dunstan’s Church in Monks Risborough.
