I have always loved flowers, plants and nature, but began painting when almost 50. For some years I combined painting with singing and teaching singing professionally.
Inspired by nature, I decided to study for the Botanical Painting and Illustration course with the Chelsea School of Botanical Art at The Chelsea Physic Garden. Head of Course Helen Allen, with Elaine Searle, Sarah Gould, and Lucy T Smith from Kew, were all inspirational teachers on that journey. I have exhibited twice with the SBA (Society of Botanical Artists) at the Mall Galleries in London.
I have finally stopped teaching singing in order to devote more time to painting. There is some calfskin Vellum waiting for me to explore!
