Abstract & impressionistic paintings
Kingsey Church

Karen Joy B.A.
abstract / intuitive painter
Originally I trained as a picture restorer, in a London studio, and I then went on to do a Fine Art Degree. After this I got married and had a family
later my yearning to paint came back and I started working with watercolour, but having found acrylic I was immediately hooked. I have now painted for the last 15 years, more and more seriously.
I love the adaptability of acrylic, as I am a very expressive and intuitive painter, and with acrylic being a fast drying paint, I can work several layers in a session. My work is always about the landscape and the multitude of layers and depth within it. I am working more and more abstractly, allowing me to explore the different marks and colours one can create.
I exhibit in various places :-county open art weeks: art fairs and various exhibitions. I do love to be present to talk to people looking at my work, and I am always happy for folks to visit me at my studio.
