120 Becky Gouverneur
Charcoal & pencil animal art
Artists at Hogshaw Farm

Becky creates large charcoal animal portraits that balance realism with personality & character. Her work has a quirky, playful edge, aiming to capture not just how an animal looks, but also it’s story. Working in charcoal allows her to work at scale with bold contrast, while retaining photographic detail with her unusual techniques.
Becky is a professional animal artist who regularly exhibits and runs workshops. She is a regular tutor with the SAA and a demonstrator at art clubs and societies, sharing her process and techniques with other artists. She is a member of Oxford Art Society and the Association of Animal Artists and is currently writing a book of her charcoal techniques, due in 2027.
This year she is exhibiting with 11 other talented artists at Hogshaw Farm. The exhibition offers free entry, a welcoming tea room, artist demos throughout the event and opportunities for visitors to have a go themselves. It’s a relaxed, lively group show set in a beautiful rural location.
