Scenic reduction linocuts
Art at the Farmhouse
Alexandra lives in Bicester, Oxfordshire and draws inspiration from countryside walks and the changes in weather and season upon the landscape. These scenic discoveries are transformed into colourful, impressionistic linocuts. Most prints are worked in reduction whereby layers of colour are cut and printed from the same block, destroying it in the process and limiting the edition. Themes for Alexandra’s prints include sun streaming through woodlands and trees, twinkling water and reflections, carpets of flowers, expansive rocky coastlines and nostalgic seaside scenes. More recently, adventures from a trip to Japan and California have sparked a collection of works.
Alexandra has been a full-time printmaker since 2012. Her linocuts have been displayed at the Royal Academy, the Bankside Gallery and Mall Galleries in London and her work sells to collectors across the UK and internationally.
Alexandra has been teaching printmaking for many years and runs several group lino printing workshops a year, details of which can be found on her website.
