WILD AND FREE WATERCOLOURS – Thursday 13th June 2024
A fascinatation with wild flowers and hedgerows has been the main inspiration for artist Clare Tebboth’s work.

An experienced watercolourist, Clare has been teaching for many years and she loves sharing her techniques in her lively, informative workshops.

This special workshop has been developed to accompany her exhibition held last summer at Preston Bissett Nurseries as part of Bucks Art Weeks. It is suitable for beginners or those with more experience who want to learn this technique.

You will need to bring some reasonable quality watercolour brushes including a size 10 round brush or larger (it must come to a fine point.)

Artist’s watercolour paint – tubes or pans
Watercolour paper minimum A4 size 300gm (140 lb), cold press or NOT surface – this is a good one https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/seawhite-watercolour-paper-pad-a4/643287100...
A large plate (white) or mixing palette
Waterpot (icecream tub size!), kitchen roll
You will explore some of the techniques for painting beautiful flowers and plants including looking at:

brush work and the use of different types of brushes
colour mixing
controlling the flow of paint
using masking to preserve areas of the paper
Throughout the morning you will produce a number of small watercolour paintings.

Please book via Events at Preston Bissett Nurseries 01280 848038

Meet at 10.15am for complimentary coffee and cake. The workshop commences at 10.30am and finishes at 1pm. If required we will take an additional coffee break.
