Jan Gaska Art & Colourful Kat Signs

Landscape oil painting & reverse glass gilding
landscape painting, mountain village

Jan Gaska
My art practice is mostly painting, drawing, and printmaking. I see myself as a realist painter with a leaning towards Impressionism. Drawing is fundamentally what I do. I enjoy the simplicity of it, working from observation. I paint mostly in oils, preferably in ‘plein air’ (painting outside on site). My landscape paintings reflect my love of being outdoors. I am also an experienced commissioned portraiture painter.
Colourful Kat Signs
Typography-inspired Signs & Interior Wall Art, carefully hand-crafted using traditional methods of signwriting and gold leaf gilding. The age-old craft of ‘Reverse Glass Gilding’ involves applying real gold leaf to the back of glass using oil or water ‘size’. The gold leaf is then backed up with paint to preserve it. Other materials I use to produce my artwork are oil-based enamel paint, abalone shell, and glitter. I am available for custom and bespoke commissions. Contact me! Instagram: colourfulkatsigns
