Paul makes mainly abstract and semi-abstract stone sculpture in a range of stone types including limestone, sandstone, marble, soapstone and alabaster. He enjoys carving, the ring of the stone, the feel and even the distinctive smell of different types of stone. He is fascinated by the challenge of carving these beautiful materials that were created millions of years ago and will long outlast us. He will also be showing a few of his wood carvings.
This year Paul is showing his recent work in Claydon Gallery Pop-Up at The Phoenix Kitchen in The Courtyard at the beautiful Claydon Estate. Claydon Gallery was previously based in Claydon Courtyard and is returning throughout Bucks Art Weeks, showing work by a selection of established artists.
Claydon Courtyard is home to a range of local, independent businesses. The Phoenix Kitchen serves fresh wholesome food with a great selection of homemade cakes, and serves excellent, locally roasted Fairtrade barista coffee!
