As a member on Leighton Buzzard Art Society I enter their annual exhibitions at All Saints Church, and at the Canal Festival in Festival in the summer.
I will for the second time be participating in Bucks Open Studios in June 2024.
I have recently completed a large canvas of the Grand Tetons National Park following my inspirational visit last year, and as usual working on some paintings of my local area which always inspires me.
Though not a formally trained artist I have had an interest in art from childhood and have generally "learned by doing" over many years. Early retirement allowed me to build a large studio and develop my skills further, resulting in successful bi-annual one man exhibitions in the UK and later a period exhibiting in USA. I taught a range of students, from children to octogenarians, in most mediums for 14 years in my studio in Ruislip and demonstrated to Art Societies in the London area. I was also for many years the Chairman of Eastcote Art Society.
In 2018 I moved to Leighton Buzzard to be closer to my family, and for a while became the Chairman of Leighton Buzzard Art Society which is now one of the most successful and dynamic art society that I have been involved with.
I now only do a very small amount of one to one teaching but travel extensively, always carrying plein air painting materials.
I now have an extensive collection of sketchbooks from my world travels, which remain very precious to me.
My enthusiasm for art and particularly painting has never wained and I don't think it ever will. I love passing on this enthusiasm to others to encourage them to participate and enjoy the pleasures from art that I have.
