In a previous life I was a senior school Art teacher and since retirement many years ago I have been working on my own ideas in a variety of media. My initial training was in jewellery design, but I quickly discovered that it is fun to keep learning new skills and I have worked in clay, metal and wood. I love trees and hills, I love colour, and I love design and creating shape, loosely based on what is inhabiting my world. The forming of ideas and working them through in different formats, filling sketchpads is almost more fun than reaching a conclusion. I am also luckily enough to have a studio in Normandy, where the landscape is a constant inspiration and somewhere I can experiment, or just have another glass of wine! Drawing has always been my first love, be it in pencil or in ink. Painting is really my main focus, with the odd diversion.
