Artist Collective at Westbury

Asya is a visual artist working across sculpture, painting, and relief. Born in Russia, her cultural heritage shaped a distinctive visual language. Drawing on folklore, craftsmanship, and a deep emotional connection to nature, her work forms a distinctive visual language rich in texture, character, and quiet narrative.
Fascinated by mystery and the unknown, Asya explores contradictions in her work; elements that cannot coexist yet find harmony within her sculptures. Her recurring characters/motifs, including birds, winged figures, keys, bells and wheels evoke spiritual and universal ideas. Her aim is to touch hearts and awaken emotions that lie quietly within the soul inviting reflection rather than explanation.
Asya uses air-drying clay to build forms over wire armature and finish them with layers of acrylic/oil paint that merge sculpture with the essence of painting.
She is a Member of Society of Women Artists; a recipient of John Doubleday Award and VAAArt100 International Award.
