You will find me in my studio making thrown and hand built ceramics, functional and sculptural. Sometimes, altering the forms as I work, adding and cutting out the clay, using sgraffito with coloured slip, until I can stop, finished. Each piece is then bisque fired in the electric kiln. Depending on final firing technique, I work on the surface of each piece, hand-painting, using oxides, underglazes, top glaze or layering glazes. Second firing back in electric kiln, or Raku and pitfiring techniques. Finally, fingers crossed nothing breaks, then excitement at discovering each piece out of the heat.
