Polymer clay caricature dog sculptures

Inspired by the joy dogs bring into our lives. I work with polymer clay to create mini celebrations of pawsomness – each art piece infused with gentle humour & quirky charm.
After 25 years working with digital media, I longed for the tactile joy of my childhood pottery class – where creativity meant messy hands & having fun. As a synthetic material, polymer clay is far less messy, but equally tactile & satisfying to work with.
Polymer clay comes in a vibrant array of colours, which I condition & blend to create custom colour palettes. No paints are involved – just pure polymer clay, layered into fine strips & feathered to mimic the natural flow & floof of fur. Each piece is cured in a low temperature oven, resulting in sculptures that are waterproof & long lasting. Freestanding works are built over a wire frame, ensuring even the longest lurcher legs remain attached!
I aim to create tangible tokens of love – artworks rich in character, warmth & wit.
