Hello, I am Marie, a fibre artist with a passion for wool crafts. I create artwork, combining wool felting, fabric collage, free motion machine embroidery and hand stitching techniques.
I also teach workshops and assemble felting kits for you to explore your creativity too.
Find me at 151 Churchway, Haddenham for demonstrations and introductory workshop sessions. I will be exhibiting alongside Liz Dee, silversmith and Bill Rolls, ceramicist.
Wool is a a versatile material in all its forms from fleece to yarn, lending itself to artistic expression in the same way as you would use watercolour paints, oils or acrylics. Wet felted or dry felted wool adds a warm, tactile element to the artwork. Nature inspires me: big skies; rocky hills stirring up cloud drama; rough coastlines. There is joy in capturing the sense of space and light, evoking the beauty of our wild spaces, with contemporary felt, textile and embroidery techniques.
