There was a moment when I toyed with calling this Friday evening workshop Lampshades & Lambrusco… (a little nod to those paint-and-drink nights!)—but it never quite captured the relaxed, summery feel we’re going for.

Think of this as the perfect start to your Friday evening – a chance to unwind, get creative, and spend time with friends before heading out for the rest of your night.

Join us for a relaxed 2-hour workshop where we’ll have gin & tonic and prosecco to help set a fun, easy-going atmosphere. Expect plenty of laughter, good conversation, and that lovely summer-evening feeling of doing something a little different together. You are very welcome to bring a bottle or two yourselves or snacks to make a bit of an event of it!

Our expert teacher, Heather Breed will guide you step-by-step as you create your own 20cm drum lampshade, sharing her expert knowledge along the way—no experience needed. We’ll have a selection of fabrics available on the night, but if you’d like to choose something that perfectly matches your home or has a special meaning, do bring your own fabric along.

And if you fancy carrying on the evening afterwards, there’s a lovely pub just across the road from The Pavilion—perfect for a post-workshop drink.

Heather is a fully AMUSF qualified upholsterer and has completed a furniture design diploma course. She worked for a French upholsterer and in two other workshops before setting up her own highly successful business. We are thrilled to be able to welcome her back with this workshop that has been a sell-out every time we have run it!

The Pavilion Summer Sessions are a series of relaxed evening workshops designed to bring people together through creativity. Each session is a chance to unwind at the end of the week, enjoy a drink, and make something beautiful in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Come with friends or on your own—these easy-going, sociable evenings are all about good company, a little creativity, and starting your weekend feeling inspired. Lampshade making is just one of our ‘Pavilion Summer Sessions’ – for more info on the other classes we are running click here.

Please note that we will only be able to run this class/course if we have a minimum of 5 guests. All of our teachers are highly skilled in their fields, but being an artist isn’t always a well paid profession so we hope you understand why it’s important that we ensure that our teachers can afford to run each of their classes. Should the class not be able to go ahead we will contact you no less than 2 weeks before it is due to start and we will of course, offer you a full refund.
