Peter works from en plein air sketches, colour notes and occasional photographs in the studio, abstracting those views of the landscape trying to capture the emotional impact of the scene, a sense of place. From the landscapes of the wild coasts of Pembrokeshire to the fields and woodland of his North Buckinghamshire home. Peter never fails to be inspired by the river, footpaths and water meadows around Olney, though his favorite muse is a remote area of Kerry where he has had the good fortune to be gifted a studio high on the cliffs above Balliskellig bay on two occasions over the last three years.
He works in a variety of mediums from acrylic to oils, watercolour to charcoal and on occasion using ink with handmade bamboo pens and brushes.
