Textiles: story, community, inspired
Artists at St Swithun’s

A textile and community artist based in North Milton Keynes, developing skills in Creative Textiles, dyeing, lino printing and embroidery.
Jane aims to tell a story: inspired by a place, a person’s life or a simple walk. In 2023 she created her first outdoor work for 78 Derngate, the Rennie Macintosh house, Northampton. The Raveningham Sculpture Trail in Norfolk and the garden of the Cowper & Newton museum in Olney based on lace making and the poems of William Cowper.
Known far and wide for her ‘cotton reel trees’ using heritage fabrics and lino prints to create tiny trees on old cotton reels.
She loves taking part in Saltaire Inspired in Bradford and the Compton Verney Fairs in Warwickshire.
Eco printing has been a starting point for historical work, depicting ancient spaces with prints from leaves, enhancing with illustration and stitch.
Jane is one of the artists who works with Waddesdon Manor NT creating the Christmas display in the Coach House with over 15,000 children.
