Biography
deRosa was awarded Best Overall Achievement at Degree assessment with a First from University Hertfordshire where she also gained her Masters in 2002: Selected Artist-in-Residence at Intaglio Printmakers where she discovered ImagOn Photo Etching and later as Committee Member, Printmaker’s Council, Solar Plate Printing – she now explores all facets of non-toxic processes in her practice and teaches the process locally and in London.
She has been awarded places on the AA2A scheme three times at UH. de Rosa organised a Day in the life of Grovehill – a Community Photographic Project in which she collaborated with schools, businesses and residents of Grovehill, Hertfordshire. She has exhibited at Brighton Fringe Festival and frequently with Printmakers Council (work currently in their Ropewalk Gallery, Hull). deRosa regularly exhibits in the county and further afield in London and Brighton. Her Solo shows include The Margaret Harvey Gallery, St. Albans and The Open-Door Gallery, Berkhamsted.
She continues to expand her knowledge of art theory especially current thinking regarding memory; and receives commissions for her triple plate memorial prints. Her essay ‘Mother, dear Mother’ was published in the Journal of Visual Arts Practice and two technical essays on photo etching in Printmaking Today.
