Exhibition and News

I exhibit all year round in two places: L’Atelier11, 11 Brackley Road, Towcester, NN12 6DH. The Art Space/Gallery, owned by Artist Printmaker, Iain Hodgkinson, which showcases our work together with occasional featured artists, ceramics and high quality art materials. Our current exhibition is ‘What do Printmakers do all day?’

Bafa Gallery, the Community arm of Buckingham Art for All (Bafa), exhibits artwork in venues throughout Buckingham. My work is currently at Body Matters Beauty , Freya Jones  , The Tourist Information Office and The Woolpack Public House

I will be exhibiting with The Buckinghamshire Craft Guild  on the Henley Arts Trail at The River House, Henley Business School, RG9 3AU. Open daily from 2nd May to 4th May 10am to 5pm. Free entry. There are 38 artists and makers at our venue. River boat taxi from Henley town centre, or plenty of car parking at the venue. Cream teas (bookable in advance)

Biography

Mainly inspired by nature and the human face, I have evolved two distinct styles over the years.

A minimalist approach to Linoprinting, where as little mark making as possible is all; and an intricate layering of textures for Collagraphs, whether in the original platemaking, the printing with chine collé, gold, silver and copper or in the hand gilding and colouring of the final prints.  I collect, dry and press leaves, flowers and bark using them with upcycled materials, like string and the discarded waste from when I make Linocuts, to make plates and embellish prints.

After studying Printmaking with Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in 2005/6 I completed a two year Higher Professional Diploma in Creative Arts (Printmaking) with distinction at West Hertfordshire College in 2008. Becoming a member of Milton Keynes Printmakers; Bucks, Beds and Herts Print Society; Leicester Print Workshop and Buckinghamshire Art Society, I was invited to become a Founder Member of the Buckinghamshire Craft Guild in 2017. I am also a member of the Printmakers Council. I helped set up Buckingham Art for All in 2008 and initiated their Community Gallery and Printmakers network  to support people in developing their skills.
