Printmaking

Biography

I’m a printmaker working mainly with linocut, reduction linocut and wood block, to create relief print editions.

I use traditional grey artists lino manufactured with natural materials and which is fully bio degradable, oil based inks and a mix of high quality Japanese and European printing papers.

My work may be figurative, or somewhat abstract, but my subjects are always connected with my experience of something, perhaps a moment in time, or a place.  I love colour and the play of light and shadow, so these tend to characterise my work.     Having explored abstract photography in past years, the juxtaposition of colours, sense of movement and blurring of forms that this can produce is an ongoing influence in my printing.
