Biography
Alison Vincent – Sculptural Hot Glass Artist
Alison Vincent is a British sculptural hot glass artist whose work is inspired by the movement, energy and force of remote ocean environments. Her practice is shaped by first-hand experiences of sailing and diving in some of the world’s most isolated and extreme locations, translating these encounters into glass.
Working directly with molten glass, she creates sculptural pieces that capture motion, balance and tension suspended in time. Using traditional hot glass techniques alongside her own developed methods, Vincent pushes the material to convey the fluidity, power and energy of the natural world.
Her work draws particularly on the atmosphere of remote oceans, polar wilderness and dramatic seascapes, exploring the relationship between beauty, fragility and natural force. Each piece is individually hand-sculpted, making every work unique.
In 2023, Alison appeared in the first BBC television series Make It At Market. She works from her studio in Buckinghamshire, creating sculptural works, commissions and limited collector pieces. Alison is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers of London and a Freeman of the City of London.
