Biography
I’m a mixed media artist currently working in acrylic painting, hand embroidery and digital collage. I take inspiration from the environment around me and I am fascinated with the combination and juxtaposition of colour and pattern. I am particularly drawn to places that are significant to me including Tunisia and the countryside around where I live.
When working on a piece, I am influenced and inspired by the materials and techniques I’m using, as well as music and my mood. As such, my work often encompasses a variety of techniques, is personal and is an extension and expression of me as an artist. Each piece is an explorative journey which evolves throughout its creation.
I studied textiles at Chelsea College of Art and Design and graduated with a BA (Hons). After graduating, I was a partner in a textiles company that specialised in experimental woven and printed fabrics for fashion and interiors. Woven textiles continues to be a further source of inspiration.
