Exhibition and News
This year I will be exhibiting with West Forest Potters on the Henley Arts Trail 2024 (3rd -5th May) in Knowle Hill Village Hall and also will be exhibiting work with the Oxford Sculptors Group at the Leander Club in Henley at the same time. Other exhibitions in the pipeline are a) a special pop-up event in Swanbourne (29th and 30th March) organised by the Bucks Craft Guild, and b) an exhibition with fellow-members of the Bucks Craft Guild at the Henley Rowing Museum in July and August. I am planning to exhibit prints at the Paper Ink Print Biennial in Teddington (13th – 15th June). Also in June, I am planning to join the Oxford Sculptors Group at Grays Court in Henley throughout June. I may exhibit with the Cookham and Maidenhead Art Trail in September, and possibly Potfest in the Pens in Melton Mowbray in November. If you are interested in any of these events, please contact me by email or through my website https://www.dorotheareid.co.uk.
I also welcome visitors to my studio in Farnham Royal, South Bucks.
Biography
Always deeply interested in art, I eventually took the plunge after a career in the NHS to gain a BA (Ist class Hons) in Ceramics & Glass at Bucks New University (2010). In 2015 I completed a MA Ceramics with Distinction at Bucks New University. My research which started during these studies was about the marine environment and the impact of rising sea temperatures and overfishing. I have exhibited installations in Denmark and the UK on these themes. I am also a printmaker and use the facilities at Amersham College to develop monoprints. My current line of enquiry is about ice melting – quite challenging!
