Biography
I have been a professional photographer all my life, working to a brief, a budget and a deadline. Nowadays I follow my own path, avoiding conventional structures, and preferring a more expressive feel, with a nod to the abstract. Figurative art may be on the rise, but so too is minimalist abstraction, with its simplicity and form, and emphasising shape and texture. I believe it offers a calming visual experience, giving a sense of order and harmony.
So in my photography I’m more than happy in a two-dimensional world; few vanishing points for me. My digital drawings have more complexity, and I do like the occasional anomaly.
In both areas I look for a striking image, well composed within the frame.
