I was born in Northamptonshire but now live in Milton Keynes not far from the concrete cows. I am a self-taught artist with a background in modular fabrication design and building services. I first started drawing back in the late eighties and early nineties with a big interval until I took early retirement when I picked up my pens again and ventured into the world of watercolour. I still remember my first tentative steps in adding watercolour to a pen drawing. I was hooked!
Landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes are my particular inspiration with a penchant for boats. As well as basic watercolours and pen & wash the use of watercolour with mixed media elements such as textured paper and paste is something I’ve enjoyed immensely and the recent use of acrylics is now another part of my painting portfolio.
