Bucks Artists and Makers members – we’d love you to join us this Saturday, 1 August, for a relaxed afternoon of creativity, conversation and inspiration at the beautiful Ascott House and Gardens in Wing.
Whether you’re sketching, painting, experimenting with a new medium or simply enjoying the company of fellow artists, this is the perfect chance to get outdoors and create together.
What to expect:
🎨 Paint and sketch en plein air in stunning National Trust gardens
💬 Meet and chat with fellow Bucks Artists and Makers members
🌼 Enjoy a relaxed members’ social in beautiful surroundings
👋 Share your work and creative process with visitors to the estate
Bring a picnic, a blanket or folding chair, your favourite portable art materials, and dress for whatever the British weather has in store! The tea room will also be open for coffee, cake and light lunches.
🎟 Garden admission is £12.95 (free for National Trust members).

Through live storytelling, you’ll discover the fascinating history behind the art – from its origins on the mud walls of village homes to the sacred rituals and folklore it brings to life.

Art is meant to be shared! After finding inspiration in the exhibition, you can —
Try Your Hand: Dip into the traditional styles and paint a small, authentic Madhubani design of your own to take home.
Leave Your Mark: Help us bring a giant communal canvas to life. A massive white sheet will be spread out for adults and children alike to draw, paint, and express their own creativity together.
Whether you are an art lover, a curious beginner, or looking for a colourful family activity, come celebrate tradition through creativity. All materials are provided, and absolutely no prior art experience is needed!
