Paula Sutton – Bucks Pottery & Sculpture Society meeting
Venue: Little Kingshill Village Hall
Timing: 8-10pm
Date: 26 June
Website: http://www.buckspotters.com

In this month’s meeting of the Bucks Pottery and Sculpture Society our guest speaker will be local sculptor Hilary Audus.
Hilary has worked in the Animation industry for a long time, and only started sculpting a few years ago after building a studio in her garden. Within the animation industry she has co-scripted, boarded and animated on the Christmas classic “The Snowman”, and directed and scripted another Raymond Briggs story “The Bear”. She also co-wrote and directed “The Snowman and The Snowdog”. She has received several awards for “Best Director” and her films have been nominated for BAFTAs and short-listed for an Oscar.
In the art of animation one is deceiving the eye by making two dimensional drawings appear three dimensional. Hilary finds it a natural progression to physically work in three dimensions when making her sculptures.
All her pieces are modelled in clay and high-fired to stoneware temperatures. Each is individually hand-built and therefore unique. Examples can be seen at www.hilaryaudussculptures.weebly.com
The meeting will be held at Little Kingshill Village Hall, Windsor Lane, Little Kingshill, HP16 0DZ on Friday 26th June from 8-10pm. Entry is free for BPSS members, £5 for visitors. For information about the Society see our website www.buckspotters.com – we are also on Facebook and Instagram.
