Artists at Aylesbury Library

In my paintings I attempt to show my passion for trees, woods and forests, as well as to encourage their preservation for future generations. Trees can grow to be amongst the largest, oldest living things on Earth and they are crucial to all life. They breathe life-giving oxygen into our atmosphere and provide food, shelter and warmth to countless species. They communicate with each other via complex networks of fungi and the stronger trees even share their water with weaker trees, to help them survive in times of drought.
The beauty of trees never ceases to astound me, starting with their annual blossoming and pollination, and culminating in magnificent autumn displays before. Then finally, when trees die and decay, they in turn feed the next generation of saplings.
Human deforestation and destruction of our life-giving trees must end before we destroy our planet and all who live here.
