We are delighted that our committee is supported by the following young people. They will sit on our Young Persons committee and be an integral part of our decision making processes, guiding us with relevant experience, and play a key role in organising our events and exhibitions.

Millie Sawyer
Hello! I’m Millie and I’m an artist based in Buckinghamshire. My main medium is oil paint, but I also love to use pen and oil pastels as well, depending on the subject I am working with. The focus of my work is to encompass nature and the female form, highlighting women’s intrinsic connection to nature, as well as my personal connection with it.
I study the history of art at Oxford Brooks, which has opened my eyes to a new connection between past and present art. This has enabled me to feel more confident in my knowledge and want to reach out to other artists who have passion for art in all its forms.
This is why the VIG is such an exciting and necessary part of learning about art. Knowing that there are local artists who are just as passionate as you are, who will share skills and help young artists with their creative journey, is such a fantastic opportunity!

Joe Byerley
Hi I’m Joe, a photographer from Princes Risborough, currently studying for my BA at Bath Spa University.
My practice consists of all facets of the photographic practice; I’m typically known for my work in portraiture, but also lend my hand to still life, architectural and nature photography.
Ever since beginning my photographic studies at Amersham College, I have been passionate about our local art scene, which is why I have joined the Visual Images Group. The organisation allows me access to great events in my local area; and to meet like minded people in a wonderful community of over 400 artists, all while doing my part to contribute and make a difference to my local art scene.

Since returning to her hometown in Buckinghamshire last year, Kaija has been exploring the effect that living in one’s hometown has on creativity, as well as the representation of young artists in local exhibitions.
