Biography
Mary Leach gained a degree in Art, Design and Marketing at Lancaster University, focusing on illustration and graphic design. The design aspect is still evident in her use of bold colours and strong dynamic shapes. Her work explores composition and form through colourful palettes creating visually striking pieces.
Mary likes to get inspiration from her travels abroad and walks around London, finding the quiet narratives found in everyday encounters. Photography is the starting point of her artistic process using her own images and instinct to develop complex scenes into simplified forms with her distinctive bold visual language.
In addition to original paintings, Mary also produces limited-edition prints, which makes her work more accessible to a wider audience. The reproduced work is printed on high quality giclée fine art paper which replicates the colours brilliantly and gives a rich textured finish.
