Biography
I have exhibited up and down the country at exhibitions and film events and have poetry books in private collections. During my Degree and Master of Fine Art, I delved into expressing the intricacies of the human condition, particularly focusing on the bodily miscommunication of Multiple Sclerosis, a condition I personally face.
I developed a drawing technique in which I use my body as a seismograph capturing my bodily biorhythms: a cough, sneeze, fidget, sigh, yawn, twitch. This process creates a unique line drawing which I then colour, to finalise the pieces I use my artistic eye to layer the drawings. The alternative process is to digitise the drawings, layering them this way gives me the freedom to play with the transparency and size allowing me to add many in one work. Finalising with the flexibility to professionally print upon a plethora of mediums available now.
I push this idea further turning the drawings into 3D sketches, origami flowers and embroideries. Testing the boundaries of the medium while playing and exploring the notion of thought and ideas.
