Marie Jones image

Influenced by the wild coastlines, dramatic landscapes of her native Scotland and now the gentle rolling hills of the Chilterns, Marie Jones connects with nature through her textile art. The tactile process of combining wool fibres with fabric and threads is slow, physical and methodical, allowing the mind to drift and wander to those places, revisiting the feelings evoked by open spaces, big skies and solitude. The result is textured artwork with a painterly quality that invites the viewer to slow down with her, to quietly notice the details and perhaps be reminded of their own special place.
