Our seasonal craft days will run several times this year - a curated collection of all of our favourite crafting activities and our passion for seasonal living.
During the day we will be:
Arranging a stunning springtime front door wreath using naturally foraged hedgerow materials, sustainably grown moss and locally grown springtime bulbs (probably from Caroline's garden so we will have some gorgeous variations of daffodils and other spring flowers!).
Making and glazing a pair of gorgeous garden birds in porcelain clay. We've had so much fun creating these little beauties and using slip to create texture as well as glazes to bring them to life. You won't need any experience of clay or to be a good artist to do this, we have made you templates and reference guides to help create your little creatures plus we have lots of bird books and illustrations if you feel confident in decorating freehand.
Sewing an applique Springtime picture using our selection of lovely fabrics, embroidery threads and embellishments. We will have embroidery hoops for you to use to create your unique designs which you can then either keep in the hoop and pop a backing on or you can create a series of smaller images and attach them to cards to send for special birthdays or events. We will have several springtime templates and ideas that you can use but if you have your own design in mind for this we can also help you transfer it across to fabric so please do let us know in advance if there is a particular scene/image/word you want to create so that we can make sure we have the right equipment with us on the day.
And last but by no means least we will be planting seeds... lots of lovely flower and veggie seeds. Everyone will leave with 2 trays (or several recycled pots) of different seeds ready for planting out into their gardens, allotments or window boxes after Easter, once the soil has warmed up a wee bit. In this part of the day we will also be sharing tips on how to grow the specific things you've planted so you can confidently carry on with them back home. For those of you who remember our Grow Your Own classes back at The Barn but never managed to book on, then this will be a brilliant throwback to those days!

The vibe will be very relaxed, the refreshments flowing and the fun in buckets full.
