I make bold coloured quilts and wall hangings using a range of techniques including appliqué, paper piecing and kaleidoscope. My work will be on display in my home “Brook End Mill” opposite Brookmead School Ivinghoe.
My quilting journey began as a natural progression from my love of textiles and colour.
I take my inspiration from nature, buildings and works of art, but also from wonderful textile designers such as Kaffe Fassett, Odile Bailloeul and Anna Maria Horner.
I like to use a range of techniques on my quilting and often include appliqué and embroidery.
A technique I often use is to take a single fabric and manipulate it with the help of a ruler and mirrors to create an endless range of patterns.
While I mainly work on my own quilts I do take commissions and in the past have worked with authors to create story quilts to be used in schools and libraries.
Quilting for me is my joy, sanity and obsession!
