Helen White at St. Dunstan's

Illuminator, Designer & Ceramic Artist
Illuminated Cross by Helen White
Breton Design Ceramic Coaster by Helen White

Gilding, painting, ceramic coasters & tiles created using traditional methods & materials. Helen's work is inspired by medieval design & nature. In the illuminations, gold is applied using methods that were used in medieval manuscripts, & tiny cabochon jewels add medieval richness to the work. Medieval craftsmen saw geometry as a reflection of the beauty of Divine order in Creation: the use of geometry brings harmony & beauty to designs, & reflects the natural world.
Ceramic tiles & coasters are made using hand-carved plaster moulds. After glazing, gold lustre details are added, which form a link with the illuminated work.
Showing with a group of established artists and makers in beautiful, medieval St Dunstan's Church in Monks Risborough.
