Having been introduced to clay about 10 years ago, I quickly found my passion for hand building (rather than throwing on a wheel). This method allows me to really feel what I am making, developing each pot organically so that one pot is never the same as another.
Initially, I finished my pots by burnishing them but recently I have been venturing into the unpredictability of glazes. What ever method I use, colour is very important to me and like many, my inspiration comes from the environment that I often find myself in, whether it be the coastline - rock, sea, sand, pebbles or the woodland - moss and wood. I make my pots for their aesthetic appearance rather than for functional use. Hope you enjoy my work.
