Crispin is an architect with a passion for drawing, painting and sculpture. He shares his time between architectural design work and his art, which he does in his garden studio, opened for the first time last year. This year he will be exhibiting a range of drawings, paintings and sculptures. His sculpture is generally abstract, using a variety of media including timber, metal, concrete and reinforced plaster. Crispin uses these materials to construct sculptures that explore the potential of the materials to express movement and the interrelationships between forms to define space. Some of these works are suitable for exhibiting in the home and others suitable for external exhibition in the garden or an a terrace. Other works explore structural forms; tensegrity structures and the dynamic equilibrium of apparently unstable yet balanced objects. Crispin will also be showing some small watercolours, and large scale acrylic panels.
