I work with clay using a range of innovative techniques to create a variety of work from installations and sculpture, to wall reliefs, bowls and smaller pieces. I love experimenting with the materials and pushing the boundaries of traditional ceramic practice to “See what happens.” My inspiration comes from a range of sources including all aspects of the natural world, ageing and decayed objects, found and archaeological artefacts. I have recently been experimenting with paper clay and working on a series of pieces inspired by caddisfly larvae. For Bucks Art Weeks I am exhibiting with 4 other artists in a beautiful rural location in Rowsham, three miles north of Aylesbury with work displayed in a barn gallery and the landscape. There will be various activities happening throughout the fortnight, and refreshments served including delicious homemade cakes! Students of A level and GCSE Art are especially welcomed.
