Interesting and individual hand built stoneware ceramics made for a garden setting. My work reflects my interest in form and colour. Pieces include totem poles, birdbaths, owls and abstract sculptures. In 2017 I also started to focus on decorating techniques, particularly on bulbous forms.
My method is to use coiling and slab building. Pieces are fired to stoneware temperatures making them fully weather proof. Sculptural pieces tend not to be glazed to retain their stone like appearance.
Our mature quarter acre garden is ideal as a setting for my style of ceramics. It contains shrubs, flowers, trees, bamboos, ferns and vegetables. There are spaces for activity and rest, sun and shade, including pergolas and a summerhouse.
Access to my studio in Stony Stratford is from either London Road, leading to Coronation Road and Egmont Avenue; or from Calverton Road, leading to Augustus Avenue and, again, Egmont Avenue.
I look forward very much for meeting you during Bucks Art Weeks.
