Chinese Calligraphy, Zen Art, Mindfulness

Chinese Calligraphy is a combination of visual art, technique, precision and mindful zen practice. Practising calligraphy can quiet our busy mind and let stillness resonate word meanings in our hearts.

Chinese characters have accumulated over 3000yr of evolutionary pictorial and philosophical wisdom and is the only ancient language that is still actively used. With the introduction of simplified Chinese characters after 1949, it is very sad that traditional Calligraphy is a fading art in my own country. As a Chinese artist, I have a great passion to advocate for its appreciation and preservation.

“A Peek into an Oriental Heart” is a month-long exhibition in April18 in the Milton Keynes Central Library. Please come and join me in creating a repertoire of perspectives and dialogues towards Chinese philosophical messages in calligraphic. From April up to our Bucks Open Arts Week, I run different workshops at various venues for children, teens and adults. Please call to book.
