Biography:
Growing up in Sydney, Sarah Beak’s school books were filled with observational drawings and cartoons. Her sketchbook was and still is, never far away to capture the sights and sounds of daily life in a quirky and concise way.
Sarah trained as a graphic designer before moving to the UK. Her work is defined by expressive line, wry humour, warmth and storytelling. Her key influences are Toulouse Lautrec, Nigel Molesworth, Ukiyo-e prints and Herge.
Now based in Buckinghamshire, she continues to develop her design and art practice while working as a communications professional promoting fostering for the local authority. You might see her about town sketching or scrambling through the Chilterns Hills with her family. Her work has recently been shown at Fitch & Fellows in Thame, Bucks Museum, Stowe Gardens National Trust and Longwick.
