Biography:

I love the endless variety and serendipity of printmaking processes. The printmaker first makes a plate then inks it and transfers the image onto another surface, in my case paper.

My core inspiration is the natural world both in subject matter and the materials I use in my favourite printmaking technique, Collagraph. My plates are made by creating a collage on card; I collect, dry and press leaves, flowers and bark using them with upcycled materials, like string and the discarded waste from when I make linocuts, before gluing them down and varnishing ready for printing. I like to exploit layers and texture as much as possible.

After studying Printmaking with Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in 2005/6 I completed a two year Higher Professional Diploma in Creative Arts (Printmaking) with distinction at West Hertfordshire College in 2008.
Becoming a member of Milton Keynes Printmakers; Bucks, Beds and Herts Print Society; Leicester Print Workshop and Buckinghamshire Art Society, I was invited to become a Founder Member of the Buckinghamshire Craft Guild in 2017. I am also a member of the Printmakers Council.

I helped set up Buckingham Art for All in 2008 and co-coordinate their Gallery, in a variety of venues in Buckingham, and Printmakers’ network; both of which I initiated to support people in developing their skills.
