Art specialisms: Mixed media ,Painting

Looking forward to joining friends, enthusiastic local supporters and visitors alongside some amazing artists to celebrate 10 years exhibiting as part of Bucks Art Weeks at St Nicholas Church, Kingsey HP17 8LS in June 2024.
Biography:
I studied art at A level and continue to explore different media and techniques, encouraged by workshops and visiting artists’ studios. Bucks Artweeks and Oxford Artweeks offer local opportunities. Visits to see family in the Cotswolds provide a wide variety of seasonal inpiration. I also enjoy reliving holiday experiences and visits to friends in Wales, Devon, Cornwall and Scotland.
A career in Special Education highlighted the value of art as a therapeutic and sensory experience as well as a means of communication. I now really enjoy having time to paint, explore different media and celebrate the rich variety of landscapes in the UK.
My paintings always reflect actual experiences, the weather and quality of light and emotions. The texture and colours of birds and animals inspires more paintings. I really enjoy painting trees in different seasons and settings using a range of media. I have also explored ceramics through raku workshops, and include a few examples in my exhibitions.
St Nicholas Church, Kingsey, offers a beautiful setting in which to be part of an inspiring group of local artists showing work across a range of media. It is a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and discover new approaches and sources of information. Great coffee and cakes too!
