Biography
My practice is grounded in traditional textile techniques inherited through familial transmission, particularly crochet, weaving, and macramé. These skills were passed down to me by my grandmothers and form both the conceptual and technical foundation of my work. Through my practice, I explore how historically domestic and functional techniques can be reinterpreted within contemporary jewellery and wearable textile design.
Working with silk, precious and semi-precious stones, and fine metals, I create one-of-a-kind pieces that emphasise material sensitivity, craftsmanship, and slow making. The colour palette of the silks and fabrics I use is inspired by natural gemstones and rocks I have encountered and collected over time, drawing on their subtle variations, depth, and mineral tones. My process values patience, repetition, and intuitive decision-making, allowing each piece to develop organically.
The resulting work reflects a dialogue between heritage and modern expression, offering objects that prioritise longevity, meaning, and craftsmanship over trend-driven design. The collection includes earrings, bracelets, necklaces, as well as small wearable scarves and summer tops. All pieces are individually handmade and produced in small quantities, with most being one-of-a-kind.
